Camping!!!!
This weekend we went on our very 1st camping trip at Lake Anna State Park! We were blessed with PERFECT weather and lots of fun with friends! We had a total of 4 families including 8 adults, 9 children (2 babies, 4 little girls, and 3 big boys) & Kojak! There were 2 campsites with 2 families at each site. Our campsite had room for a picnic table and canopy, fire pit with plenty of room for chairs, a couple tents, and the trucks. We were walking distance to the beach, playground & restrooms and had just the right amount of sun & shade.
This is a picture for our practice set up at home...somehow I never took a picture of our entire tent set up at the camp site so I wanted to show you our tent with the attached vestibule.

Our campsite was based with pebbles that were the hit toy of the weekend! No need for big toys...just some buckets, shovels and lots of gravel! When we arrived, Olivia jumped right in to playtime :)
Daddy got Kojak settled in and things set up...
Mommy got the kids and odds and ends all settled in...
After getting settled and visiting we all headed out down the trail, through the woods, to the beach.
This video is dark but if you listen you can hear Olivia say we're going to the beach!

We didn't plan on getting in the water, but it turned out the water wasn't too cold...so in the water the children went!
Olivia quickly found that she preferred no clothes!
After some swim time we headed to the playground. There was a nice big train to play on. Olivia hopped on and announced "all aboard!"
After a short night's sleep (went to bed around 11p and of course the kids were up with the sun at 6!) it was a beautiful morning. This gives you an idea of the layout of our tent. This is looking out of the tent into the vestibule. The vestibule closes and we kept the tent door open to the vestibule to make one big living space.
Zachariah was the first to wake up so I took some morning pics...Olivia & Daddy still sleeping :)
Zachariah playing with toys so Mommy could try to pretend she was sleeping a few more minutes!
Yes, he is wearing a necklace. It is a baltic amber teething necklace...the verdict of whether or not this is helping with the pain of teething is still out ;) But when he's dressed he looks like a surfer :)
Morning Snuggles
After Mommy woke up Daddy to take care of two very large unwelcomed visitors (wolf spiders!) we had some more snuggles :)
Olivia woke up with a smile and big eyes ready to "play with the girls"
Daddy & Olivia headed up to the corner store to get the eggs (Mommy left them sitting in the refrigerator at home). Mommy, Zachariah & Kojak took a little morning walk :)
Another beautiful day!
Strawberries...breakfast, snack & lunch...what more could you want!
Finally our trip came to an end and it was time to...
pack up...
and say...
goodbye :)
